PIMICS is a PIM system that runs directly within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It is developed by Allium (Deutschland) GmbH in Dresden. The vendor has been in business since 2001.
Most PIM systems are standalone applications connected to the ERP through an interface. PIMICS takes a different approach: it is a module within Business Central. Product data is maintained in the same system used to manage items, prices and inventory. Changes are automatically passed on to sales and marketing channels, such as online stores and catalogues. Supplier data can be imported without having to enter it multiple times.
For companies that use Business Central and intend to stay with it, PIMICS removes the need for an integration layer. Customers include Jäger-Direkt, EMS Patvag and Ziegler. Its close ties to the ERP are also its limitation: switching ERP systems later will affect the PIM as well. You should also clarify how marketing teams without an ERP licence can work with the system.
