Equadis: PIM with its own GDSN data pool
At a glance
As of: November 2026 · based on vendor information, reviewed by usEquadis is a Swiss provider based in Carouge near Geneva that combines Product Information Management with its own GDSN data pool. Equadis is certified by GS1 as a data pool operator. This allows manufacturers and retailers to exchange product data directly via the Global Data Synchronisation Network without an additional service provider. According to Equadis, it serves more than 600 companies, primarily in consumer goods, food, cosmetics and healthcare.
The four modules
- PIM: centralised product data management with workflows and validation rules.
- PDS (Product Data Syndication): distribution via GDSN, Excel and, according to the provider, more than 950 connectors to retailers and marketplaces.
- DSA (Digital Shelf Analytics): monitors how products appear in retailers’ online stores and reports missing or incorrect information back to the PIM.
- ACE (AI Content Engine): AI for extracting, translating and creating product content.
Strengths and limitations
Equadis has a predominantly European presence, serving both mid-sized businesses and large enterprises. Its strengths lie in combining PIM, syndication and Digital Shelf Analytics in a single solution, its own GDSN data pool, and the direct feedback of issues identified in retailers’ online stores into product data management. We see limitations in its workflows, which customers cannot adapt themselves using a visual designer, its smaller partner ecosystem and certain AI features that are still in development.
Who Equadis is suited to
Equadis is particularly well suited to consumer goods, food and cosmetics manufacturers that need to supply data to retailers via GDSN while also monitoring how their products are presented online. Its customers include international brands such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Nestlé, L’Oréal and Haleon. There is currently no German-language website, and the platform documentation is available in French and English. This should be factored into implementation and support planning in Germany.
