IMatch / IMatch Anywhere

IMatch is a digital asset management system for Windows, available since 2001, developed by Mario M. Westphal, who markets his software under the name photools.com. IMatch Anywhere is an add-on that makes an IMatch database accessible via a browser through a web server on your own network. It is aimed primarily at photographers and small teams.

Deployment and security

IMatch runs locally on Windows. IMatch Anywhere runs on a Windows PC on your own network. The vendor advises against direct internet access and recommends a VPN or a hardened reverse proxy. The vendor does not list a cloud offering or certifications.

Integration with PIM and other systems

There is no PIM module, and no PIM integrations are listed. IMatch WebServices (HTTP endpoints with JSON, with an overview available via /discover) enables integration with custom scripts and applications. No plug-ins for Adobe or Microsoft are listed.

IMatch costs US$145 for a perpetual licence. IMatch Anywhere costs US$65 (HOME, non-commercial), US$220 (PRO) or US$430 (TEAM) for a perpetual licence, with local taxes calculated at checkout. A 30-day trial is available.

Ownership

The developer and owner is Mario M. Westphal. According to the legal notice, photools.com is not a company but the name under which he markets his products. Sales are handled through FastSpring.
