Synergy was the PIM system from ctrl-s GmbH, a Stuttgart-based company founded in 2002. Synergy has no longer been available since 2025: it was listed as “Synergy Multichannel Publisher” in the product menu on ctrl-s.de until May 2024, but has been absent since 2025 (according to the Internet Archive).
Synergy maintained product data centrally in a media-neutral format, regardless of whether it would ultimately be used in a catalogue, an online shop or by a retailer. The system was based on Pimcore, included media asset management and synchronised data with ERP, product management and CRM systems. A key focus was output: the Multi Channel Media Generator used the same data to create print-ready catalogues, content for online shops and data packages for trading partners.
Today, ctrl-s focuses on symphony, a smart factory framework for printing companies and mass customisation businesses. It replaces or complements ERP and MIS systems and manages orders and production. symphony is not a PIM system. Synergy should also not be confused with SynergyPIM by Total Synergy, which is a project information management solution for architecture and engineering firms.
