Xpublisher

Xpublisher, from Munich-based Fabasoft Xpublisher GmbH, is a cloud-based editorial and publishing system for print and digital. Digital Asset Management is included as a dedicated functional area, which the vendor also describes on a separate DAM page.

Hosting and security

Xpublisher has been running as SaaS on the Fabasoft Cloud since 1 January 2023. According to the vendor, the servers are located in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Fabasoft lists ISO 27001, ISO 27018, C5 and ISAE 3000 SOC 2 among its certifications for the Fabasoft Cloud; the certifications page does not explicitly state that these apply to Xpublisher.

Integration with PIM and other systems

The vendor does not list a PIM module or specific PIM integrations. Xpublisher lists REST, CMIS, OData and WebDAV as interfaces. Integrations are available for Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office, and via CI HUB for Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Who Xpublisher is suited to

Xpublisher targets editorial and publishing teams in publishing houses, research institutions, public administration and businesses. Listed sectors include publishing, aerospace, technology and education.

Pricing

The vendor does not publish prices. According to the website, licensing and implementation costs depend on the project and customer, and the minimum contract term is generally 12 months.

Ownership

Fabasoft Xpublisher GmbH has been part of the Fabasoft Group (Linz) since 2019. Its US subsidiary, Fabasoft Xpublisher Inc., is based in Chicago.
