Sales Layer is a cloud-based PIM from Valencia, Spain. Álvaro Verdoy and Iban Borràs founded the company in 2013. In 2022, Sales Layer raised US$25 million in a funding round led by PeakSpan Capital, primarily to support growth in the UK and the US. Alongside its PIM, the offering includes a DAM and tools for syndicating data to channels.

Features at a glance

  • PIM: centralized product data with a focus on ease of use for sales and marketing.
  • DAM: images and documents linked directly to the product.
  • Syndication: connectors for online stores, marketplaces and ERP systems, digital catalogs and PDF export.
  • AI: AI features for text generation and data enrichment.

Strengths and limitations

Sales Layer is quick to set up and offers a free 30-day trial. A wide range of standard connectors speeds up integration with online stores and marketplaces. Its customers include manufacturers such as Avnet, Tupperware, Teka and Fermax, many of them from Spain and Southern Europe. In German-speaking markets, Sales Layer has fewer implementation partners than established providers. For highly complex technical data models, print catalogs or classifications such as ETIM, you should test the features with your own data beforehand.

Who Sales Layer is suited to

Sales Layer is a good fit for mid-sized manufacturers and brands looking for a PIM without a lengthy implementation project and distributing data to retailers and online channels.
