Ataccama ONE overview

Ataccama ONE is a platform for data quality, data governance and master data management. Ataccama was founded in Prague in 2007 as a spin-off from consulting firm Adastra and is now headquartered in Toronto. Much of its development team remains in Prague. In 2022, Bain Capital invested US$150 million for a minority stake, marking the company’s first external funding.

Features at a glance

  • Data quality: Profiling, validation rules, cleansing and data quality monitoring, including AI-assisted capabilities.
  • MDM: Consolidation and maintenance of master data across multiple domains.
  • Data catalog and governance: An overview of data assets, responsibilities and policies.
  • Deployment: As SaaS or on your own infrastructure.

Strengths and limitations

Ataccama’s strength lies in data quality: its extensive validation rules, profiling and cleansing capabilities can be applied to all data sources, not just master data. This also makes the platform suitable as a data quality layer upstream of an existing PIM or ERP system. Ataccama is not designed to manage product content such as text, images and channel-specific variants. Given its broad functionality, you should define early on which modules you actually need.

Who Ataccama is suited to

Ataccama suits medium-sized and large companies looking to improve data quality and governance across many systems and gradually add MDM capabilities.
