Fotoware and Picturepark at a glance
Fotoware is a Norwegian Digital Asset Management provider with around 30 years of experience and, according to the company, more than 850 customers. In 2022, Fotoware acquired the Swiss content platform Picturepark, which combined DAM, PIM and master data in an API-first system. The Picturepark brand has since been absorbed into Fotoware, and its website redirects to Fotoware.
Key features
- DAM: Images, videos and documents with metadata, rights management and AI support.
- Product data: Fotoware can serve as a combined DAM and PIM, syndicating product data to websites, dealer portals and online stores.
- Integration: API-first, acting as a central hub between PIM, online stores and other systems.
- Workflows: Automated approval and distribution processes.
Strengths and limitations
Its clear strength lies in asset management. Picturepark was particularly well established in Switzerland, with customers including UEFA, Breitling, Faber-Castell and Bosch Security. Fotoware positions itself primarily as a complement to an existing PIM. As a standalone PIM, the platform is better suited to brands with relatively straightforward data models. Existing Picturepark customers should clarify the roadmap following its integration into Fotoware.
Who Fotoware is suited to
Fotoware suits brands and manufacturers that put images and media at the centre of their operations and want to link product data to their assets.
