Acquisitions, mandatory cloud migration and versions reaching end of life: in 2026, the basis for existing contracts has changed at many PIM vendors. We provide an independent review of your contract, your vendor's roadmap and the alternatives, with a clear recommendation on whether to stay, renegotiate or switch.

When a review makes sense
Change of ownership
Your vendor has been sold or has a new investor, as with Salsify, Pimcore, 4ALLPORTAL or Perfion. See the consolidation report for an overview.
End of self-hosting
Your system runs in your own data centre, and the vendor is shifting to SaaS, as with Stibo Systems, where support ends at the end of 2027.
Version reaching end of life
Your version no longer receives patches, for example Akeneo 7 or SAP Commerce On-Premise.
New pricing or licensing model
User licences are being replaced by packages, AI features cost extra, or prices rise significantly at renewal.
Contract renewal approaching
Your contract expires in the next six to twelve months, and you want to know whether the terms are still competitive.
Dissatisfaction with day-to-day operations
Roadmap commitments are being delayed, support is declining, or connectors are being discontinued.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to change my contract after a change of ownership?
No, existing contracts remain valid. However, a change of ownership is a good opportunity to review the contract term, pricing clauses and commitments before the next renewal. Vendors are often open to negotiation around a change of ownership.
What is a change-of-control clause?
It sets out what happens if your vendor changes ownership, such as a special right to terminate or price protection for a defined period. If your contract does not include one, you can negotiate its inclusion at renewal.
When should I start the review?
Ideally, six to twelve months before your contract expires or support ends. PIM selection usually takes two to three months, and implementing a new system takes six to twelve months.
Do you need my contract documents?
Yes, for the workshop we review your contract, proposals and service specifications. For the free initial consultation, a brief description of your current situation is enough.
