PXM / Product Experience Management

In brief: Product Experience Management (PXM) describes how products are presented and experienced across channels. It extends PIM with channel-specific content, syndication and analytics. A well-maintained product data record remains the foundation.

PXM and PIM compared

  • PIM ensures that product information is complete, accurate and centrally available.
  • PXM builds on this and considers how that information performs in each channel: the right copy, images, sequence and tone for each target audience.

Typical PXM capabilities

  • Channel-specific content and copy variations
  • Syndication to retailers and marketplaces
  • Digital shelf analytics, such as checking whether products are displayed correctly on retailers’ websites
  • Content quality assessment by channel

Putting PXM in context

Many vendors now market their PIM systems as PXM platforms. When selecting a system, the label matters less than which of these capabilities you actually need.
