Completeness

In brief: Completeness measures how much of the required product information has been filled in, often as a percentage by channel or language. It is one of the most important metrics for data quality in PIM.

How completeness is calculated

  • Mandatory attributes are defined for each channel.
  • The PIM system checks which of these have been filled in for each product.
  • The result is displayed as a percentage, for example, “DE shop: 92 percent”.

Why this helps

Teams can immediately see which products are not yet ready to publish and what is missing. Many PIM systems block exports if completeness falls below a defined threshold. However, completeness alone says nothing about accuracy. Validation rules are also needed.
